(pretty much the same mantra of more map control = more better). Seeing a unit pop up crossing the center of a capture point etc. Flashing sectors on the minimap is great for knowing this. The best way to stop a bad engagement is to be far away as possible and know about it as far in advance as possible. I also move my camera on the minimap to help me focus on this. You can see infantry, support weapons, tanks show up on the minimap ahead of time. Starcraft II pros do this and it makes great sense for CoH2 as well. My methods(which I am definitely still working on getting a habit) is stare at the minimap. First find a system where you can not lose squads reliably. Vice versa if you have less veterancy you need more tactical superiority. If you have more veterancy then your opponent you need less tactical superiority. The simplest advantage is veterancy advantages improving your system to not lose squads is huge. You win the game by creating an advantage. I tend to watch my replays a fair bit(pretty much just when I lose). These are the tool and resources I used to learn.
